Since cofounding Garnet Group in 2000, Veena has focused on working with individuals and families, and has a particular interest in helping people in transition, including those experiencing loss of a spouse, divorce, job transition, and other changes.
Veena has been repeatedly recognized by the Washingtonian Magazine as a top local financial expert. She has appeared in numerous widely-read publications including the Washington Post, Bloomberg, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, the New York Post, CNBC.com, Washingtonian, and Business Week. Veena served as a trustee of a non-profit foundation.
Veena is a member of several professional societies including the CFA® Institute and the CFA® Society of Washington DC. She served as President of the Washington DC Metro NAPFA group. She earned an MBA, Finance, from George Washington University, and a BS in computer science from West Virginia University. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®), the premier investment analytic designation.

Annette has been named one of Washingtonian Magazine’s top financial experts each time they have published a list since 1999. She is a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) and has held leadership roles at the local, regional and national levels within the organization.
Journalists from a variety of publications including: Business Week, Investor’s Business Daily, Fox Online, Financial Planning, Dow Jones Investment Advisor, the Washington Post, the Baltimore Sun and Consumer Reports have consulted her in preparing articles on financial planning issues. Annette has been heard on National Public Radio’s Morning Edition and Marketplace shows and has appeared on the NBC Nightly News as well as various local news broadcasts.
Annette holds an MBA from Yale University and a BA from Northwestern University.
